60 High School Teachers Join BDF Workshop
On October 17, 2024, the Bali Dyslexia Foundation (BDF) organized an Inclusive Education Masterclass Workshop for high school teachers in Bali. The program was conducted as part of BDF’s commitment to strengthening educators’ capacity to create more inclusive and responsive learning environments for all students. The workshop was fully supported by the Bali Provincial Education, Youth, and Sports Office and was officially opened by the Head of the Bali Provincial Education Office.
The training was attended by 60 participants representing 31 schools from Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan. Participating schools included SMA Negeri 6 Denpasar, SMKN 1 Mas Ubud, SMA Negeri 2 Tabanan, SMA Negeri 1 Tegallalang, SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Utara, SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi, and SMAN 4 Denpasar. The strong participation reflected the growing awareness and commitment among educators toward inclusive education development in Bali.
During the workshop, participants received training on inclusive education principles, early identification of learning difficulties such as dyslexia, and adaptive teaching strategies for classroom implementation. Teachers were also introduced to multisensory approaches and practical teaching methods designed to support students with diverse learning needs more effectively.
In addition, the workshop featured a special session on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to support learning activities. VR was introduced as an innovative interactive learning tool capable of enhancing students’ focus, visual understanding, and overall engagement in the classroom. Participants gained insight into how technology can be integrated into education to create more inclusive, engaging, and student-friendly learning experiences.
Through this initiative, BDF hopes teachers will become key drivers in building more inclusive schools for all students, including children with learning difficulties. By improving teachers’ knowledge and practical skills, inclusive education practices in Bali are expected to continue growing and provide equal learning opportunities for every child.
